Reamonn are back on tour in the UK. Check out the diary here! UK BLOG "BLUE OCTOBER" ************************** Timing is everything! We left Köln/Cologne airport at 10 o’clock at night in order to catch the 4 o’clock ferry to Dover. We picked up the equipment we have stored in the UK in London and are now on our way to Nottingham for the first Blue October show! I was in bed 10 minutes ago and now I am in the lounge on the bus writing a blog and feeling like I just left Köln/Cologne. When you travel over night you have no concept of time, I lie down when I am tired and eat when I am hungry and etc. Sitting here with half of the crew awake and the other half sleeping and the band the same, the whole construct takes a lea into reality once the bus is at the venue then everyone knows what to do, before that it’s a kind of Limbo. It all feels like it should be sitting in a bus on tour in the UK, for most bands this is the dream for me it is the start! Phil just hit the boards having completely missed the stops in London now 100 miles north of the capital. In true tour fashion he registers the news without reaction and moves to the coffee machine for a “wake cup call!!” We had two drivers but one has already left the bus and is on he’s way back to Germany, “Strangers in the night” was a song about touring! I’ve never been to Nottingham but if the stories of Robin Hood are any depiction of the reality I am expecting a big forest and people in green ? For me personally this is the only way to get to know a country by being involved, by doing rather than viewing. The people you meet on these tours are normally a mixture of veteran tour merchants or fresh blood, hungry for the knowledge of what is behind the stage. I always feel like a mixture as I am still curious and still hungry for what I do but I know the dos and don’t of touring. Every audience is an adventure and a step towards our own tour. Apart from thanking the band Blue October as the band October Blue at the last show in Scala (I’m still apologising for that one!), we got on really well and we were treated well so I am looking forward to seeing them again and enjoying the show. Our set is 30 minutes so it will be very explosive, I am excited when every seconds counts. We’re still in the bus with a few miles to go, check in to the hotel then on to the club for the sound check and then the show, everything in it’s place, Timing is everything! Rea
